Gambel's quail 2003 Texas Quail Stamp Print by Sherri Russell Meline
The Gambel's quail is one of Texas' most unusual game birds. The Gambel's quail exquisite feather markings as well as the male's head plume are its most distinctive features. It is named after William Gambel, an early collector of game birds. Sherri Meline has won the 2002 Texas Nongame stamp print, as well as accomplishing a rare feat of winning both the 2003 Texas duck stamp print and the 2003 Texas quail stamp print in the same year. This signed and numbered limited edition print has an actual image size of 6.5" x 9" and a retail price of $150 each which includes the mint stamp. (Click image to see larger picture.)
