Mottled duck in reeds 2003 Texas Waterfowl Stamp Print by Sherri Russell Meline
The mottled duck, accurately portrayed as a loner in this piece, is also known as the black mallard or the summer mallard, and is traditionally found along the Gulf Coast marshes. These shy ducks are rarely seen flying in large flocks or with other duck species. They prefer to fly in pairs and keep to small secluded ponds. Sherri Russell Meline is also this years winner of the 2003 Quail Stamp Print. This signed and numbered limited edition print has an actual image size of 6.5" x 9" and a retail price of $148 each which includes the mint stamp. (Click image to see larger picture.)
